This Historic renovation in Old Village Chatham has maintained its historical aspects while modernizing and creating more living space. The house was too low to the street and had to be raised. Much of the old house was deteriorating including the floor structure. After much consideration, it was decided to lower the new addition 3 risers to create a living space compliant with code. The front structure was reconstructed as was the garage. Renovation also took place on the second floor and the original old bedroom was preserved and with improved access from the rest of the upstairs. New trim and windows were installed. This Holway Street home is now an outstanding example of an older home that offers the benefits of modern living. Winner of the 2016 Chatham Preservation Award and 2016 Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Cape Cod BRICC Gold Award.
